Summary

Roy Hansen, Jr., owner of Marlboro Pest Control, is a licensed experienced builder as well as a seasoned pest control expert. He can use the two areas of expertise to identify and correct damage caused by pests such as termites, carpenter ants, powder post beetles, and carpenter bees.

This is especially useful where the pests are still active. He knows how to do minimal damage to a structure when some damage causing intervention is needed to control pests, and can tell the difference between damage caused by poor materials, or by wood rot rather than pest infestation.

He can also coordinate effectively with contractors who find pests as they are doing renovations because he can "speak their language".

In addition to repairing pest-caused damage, Roy is interested in larger non-critical building or carpentry projects for the pest control "off season", which is typically in the winter.

Contracts

Contracts for carpentry projects are priced separately from any pest control contracts, and are customized to the need.

Carpenter ant identification

Most ants are small and nest underground, only rarely becoming anything more than a nuisance. Carpenter ants (see photo top), on the other hand, are large ants that nest above ground in cavities such as tree stumps and sometimes in the walls, subfloors or roofs of our houses where they can cause extensive and expensive damage.

Carpenter ants are generally larger than 3/8" and all black or red and black. Winged ants may be present in late spring but like other ants, most of the year carpenter ants are wingless
